Day 346: Girl’s Night with LB

When all else fails, have a girl’s night! Thank goodness for LB – she’s been the most incredible friend over the past two years and I don’t know what I would do without her! She’s actually moving a few miles away in a few weeks, so I stopped by to help her pack up her kitchen and load up her car. We ended up at dinner and then polishing off a few glasses of wine, so I spent the night (probably for the last time!) at her place.

I love the bright pink in this outfit combo – it’s a surefire way to make me smile! Not going to lie, when LB and I went out to dinner, I wore the top half along with a pair of black shorts. Definitely a fashion statement, but not in a good way.

Sound off: what do you always do for your girl’s night?

Day 341: Wine Day

Based on my overflowing wine cabinet (which is actually just an entire cabinet in our already small kitchen dedicated to the 30+ bottles I own), it’s pretty clear that I love wine. So today when I found a local Wine Festival, I was super excited to go with my best friend LB and my new neighbor friend! We all met up right near Ponce City Market in Atlanta and it was a beautiful day – perfect for getting sunburnt and drinking wine. About three hours in, I slowly transition from pleasantly drunk to okay I need water and pizza STAT. I headed home and spent the rest of the night hanging out with Stormy and burning Trader Joe’s pizza. Days like this remind me that I’m not quite ready for #adulting 24/7.

The weather down here in Atlanta is GORGEOUS – so I took advantage! I paired my new shirt (story on why I broke the challenge here)  with an old pair of shorts and my favorite Adidas sneakers for a casual and comfortable outfit!

Sound off, what’s your favorite kind of wine?

Day 323: HOA and Wine

These HOA board meetings come so fast every month. Thank goodness for L; I arrived home just fifteen minutes before we were expected to meet and he had pizza waiting. The meeting ran as expected – long and meandering. Afterward, I headed over to our next-door neighbors for a nightcap. It’s only recently that we got to know our neighbors and it’s been so much fun! As an added bonus it was GORGEOUS out tonight, so we sat out on the balcony and drank a little bit of red wine.

This lacy shirt is lots of fun – but I always worry about getting it dirty! I paired it with these pants that have quickly become my favorites throughout this challenge.

Sound off: how did you meet your neighbors?

Day 315: Recovery and Wine

I’m pleasantly surprised at how ‘not’ sore I am, but I’m totally going to take this week off! Today at the office, I had a couple of meetings – one with a new agency I’m hoping to bring on-board! It’s always so much fun to get new ideas into the mix!

After work, I headed out to a cute new wine and tapas bar with LB and one of my new friends in our development. (And if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know how desperate I was to make friends in our development!). Anyways, it was great to relax with wine and good conversation!

My boss is notorious for her all-black outfits, so today I followed suit! Plus all black on a Monday –  just feels fitting.

Day 303: PJ’s Girl[space]friend

We have some amazing friends in town and I couldn’t be more excited! Tonight PJ’s girl[space]friend is visiting Atlanta and she’s staying with us for the night (happy dance)! They met New Year’s Eve when we all went to Asheville. Both PJ and his beau don’t have work tomorrow, so L and I pretended we didn’t either. A bottle (or two) of wine and a few fruitless attempts to start a board game later and it felt like a Friday. Here’s to hoping that PJ’s girl comes and visits more often! And if you’re curious what girl[space]friend means – join the club.

Today I ‘rediscovered’ this awesome cardigan that I definitely don’t wear often enough. Between its amazing pattern and awesome tailored fit, I definitely need more cardigans like this (when I can actually shop again). For now, I’ll just have to find more ways to wear this one!

Day 212: Red Wine Day Two

Last night was ‘game night’ at one of our friends’ houses. We try to get together every Tuesday for a strategy-based game: last night we played Ticket to Ride and I loved it! I also loved the red wine . Okay, maybe I loved the red wine a little more. So much so that I skipped barre this morning – oops! I guess our love wasn’t reciprocal.

Today I was filled uninspired and boring. On the way to drop off Stormy at puppy day care, I saw two women who layered perfectly with some gorgeous vests. These days when I feel a bit frumpy are the hardest to not shop. I made a vow to play with more layering the rest of this week (which won’t be hard when L and I head up to Boston this weekend!). Otherwise, I do love this shirt that L’s mother gave me for my birthday!

Day 151: Old-aged Wino

Apparently according this test here, my wine taste age is 31. I’m going to pretend that means I’m sophisticated, not that I enjoy wine wayyy too much. My fascination with wine started when I went to school in the Finger Lakes region in New York and I haven’t looked back since!

Day 151: Winc

To manage my love of wine, I’ve been using Winc (or as they used to be known Club W) for almost two years now. Winc is a wine club that has relatively inexpensive wine ($13-$20) that will make you feel pretty darn ritzy.

Day 151: Winc

They have a little bit of everything – from a syrupy sweet white for L to a complex cab for LB. I’ve had so much fun getting a better understanding of what I do and don’t like.

Today was my wine delivery day, which makes this Friday 100% better. How can you not be excited about wine and weekends? Because I love trying a little bit of everything, I have reds, whites, roses, and even some bubbly in this shipment. L thinks that it’s completely rational to only need a few bottles of wine per month, but I just can’t get on the same page as him! What if we have steak one night and pork chops the next night? We need to pop open another bottle!

Day 151: Winc

For the past two years, Winc has helped me figure out that my favorite wine in the world in a Chenin Blanc and that sparkling, dry reds are so incredibly fun. If you’re looking to expand your wine taste, you should definitely check them out! Excuse me while I celebrate this weekend with one of my faves WKND sparkling.

As far as outfits go, today I wanted to be effortlessly Friday chic. This morning I had a meeting with an agency in downtown Atlanta and a doctors appointment with my rheumatologist at 3pm, so I got to work from home between the two. Not going to lie, I absolutely LOVE working from home because I can get so much done while snack on SO MUCH food. It’s a win-win in my book.

Sound off, what’s your go-to wine?

** The links used in today’s post about Winc are referral links, which means if you click and sign up, I’ll get a little something, something 😉 In all serious, I am committed to only recommending companies that I love. And I love wine.
