So yesterday we had our first every tornado warning in Atlanta since I moved down here. I did not like it (but I did learn the different between a warning and a watch). We actually had some tornadoes that touched down not too far from my work. For almost forty-five minutes, I sat in the stairwell waiting for the warning to be lifted, missing home. Yes it’s cold in the northeast, but our traffic is better and we get snow.
Anyways, I survived and picked up a dramatic cocktail party story, so we’re all good. Today is going to be a super active day. My co-workers and I are reviving our work out challenge; in the month of December we have to work out 18 days. I kicked my morning off with a bang: barre at 5:30am. I promised my wubby that we’d run together after work (apparently I convinced us to sign up for a 15k AND a half marathon??? Bored Rachael is mean).
It’s warming up here again so I’m back to skirts. I love the pattern on this top – usually I match it with black so it can stand out. This time, I decided to go loud and bright with my whole outfit! Now I feel like it should be spring.
Sound off: tell me about the natural disasters you deal with in your neck of the woods.

These past few days have been like a marathon. Actually scratch that – I ran a marathon in October 2013 and found it enjoyable (call me crazy). These past few days have been like that time at my college track practice when I didn’t realize that my roommate borrowed my water bottle filled it with vodka and not water. I didn’t realize this until after a giant swig after doing 400 meter repeats.
The past three nights I’ve worked past 7pm. For anyone who knows me understands that this severely encroaches on my 8:30pm bed time… which is not cool. I’m trying to tap into the whole “I’m-an-adult” thing and the “it’s-nice-to-pay-bills” mindset but right now I just want to be like “WEEKEND, COME AND GET ME.” So there’s that.
Today I tossed this outfit together because I’ve worn it before and I liked the way it looks. I’m trying to downplay that fact that this is technically a fall outfit and that L calls these pants my “nurse” pants. I made it to work (and worked late) and so I’m calling today a win.

I started running when I was 14. All my friends were joining after school sports, but I was the lone wolf who hadn’t attended sleep-away soccer camp or played AAU basket ball since toddlerhood. I figured I’d try cross country since there were no cuts and running didn’t seem too hard. I wasn’t particularly good, but I wasn’t the worst – and that was good enough for me.
Running in the morning for me is apparently not a good idea. Lately I’ve been getting up early to sneak in a little extra GMAT study time and go for a run before work. This morning, I decided to try a different route. I thought I knew where it went – I didn’t. Four miles later, I ended up at a juvenile detention center. Of course my phone was dead, so I went inside to borrow one of the nice officer’s phone to call my even nicer fiancee to pick me up. Oops.
