These HOA board meetings come so fast every month. Thank goodness for L; I arrived home just fifteen minutes before we were expected to meet and he had pizza waiting. The meeting ran as expected – long and meandering. Afterward, I headed over to our next-door neighbors for a nightcap. It’s only recently that we got to know our neighbors and it’s been so much fun! As an added bonus it was GORGEOUS out tonight, so we sat out on the balcony and drank a little bit of red wine.
This lacy shirt is lots of fun – but I always worry about getting it dirty! I paired it with these pants that have quickly become my favorites throughout this challenge.
Sound off: how did you meet your neighbors?

Remember when I decided to be on the HOA board was a good idea? Yeah, one month in and I’m starting to realize how much work it is! Tonight we had our first official meeting at our HOA board president’s house. I never realized how much goes into running these types of things. We kicked off the meeting with a long-winded discussion of the previous board, which hurt my little efficient heart. Anyways, I was voted Secretary (something about marketing people being good at writing?) and we talked about all the things we needed to do to keep the integrity of our complex. It was actually kinda scary and I’m glad that I’m not a full-blown homeowner yet because there’s a lot to consider.
Today I was feeling like layering. This skirt is one of my favorites, but its helm was messed up for a while and I finally got it fixed! I’m excited to start rotating it back into my rotation.

Guess who’s officially on the HOA (homeowners association) board? That’s right – that girl pictured below who already has NO time! In all seriousness, I am SO excited to be on the board. L and I bought this home almost a year and a half ago and there’s definitely a bunch of things I’m looking forward to shaping up in our community. It’s funny – when L and I were looking for a place to buy last September, he had two requirements: number 1, we can’t go over a single speed bump to get to our house and (2) he didn’t want a lawn to mow. We had our hearts set on one place and we put in an offer, but someone paid in all cash. We lost it, but two weeks later we found our current place. It was in a similar development, on the top floor, PLUS it had hardwood floors. At the end of the day, we totally won with out current place!
Of course, I decided to wear a sweater on the day that it was super toasty! At least it’s cool in my building.
