Day 346: Girl’s Night with LB

When all else fails, have a girl’s night! Thank goodness for LB – she’s been the most incredible friend over the past two years and I don’t know what I would do without her! She’s actually moving a few miles away in a few weeks, so I stopped by to help her pack up her kitchen and load up her car. We ended up at dinner and then polishing off a few glasses of wine, so I spent the night (probably for the last time!) at her place.

I love the bright pink in this outfit combo – it’s a surefire way to make me smile! Not going to lie, when LB and I went out to dinner, I wore the top half along with a pair of black shorts. Definitely a fashion statement, but not in a good way.

Sound off: what do you always do for your girl’s night?

Day 288: Girls Night with Lexie

Some days you just need a girls’ night. Today we had all day meetings with some of our corporate team. Let’s just put it this way: all of the coffee was gone before the meeting was half-way over. It was a long day. On the way home from work, I stopped at LB’s – which turned into an impromptu girl’s night. It was much needed – we haven’t caught up or vented in so long. All I can say is thank goodness I have LB!

Since our corporate team was here, I wanted to look presentable! I bought this skirt a while ago (ironically while shopping with LB) but I haven’t worn it in a while. It used to be a little on the tighter end, but I guess those 5:30am barre classes are helping!

Sound off: what’s your favorite girl’s night activity?

Day 221: Sugar Cookies

Today I was in all day meetings with my team, which was both good and bad. It was great to talk with teammates who live and work in other states, but I am not SOOO behind on email. Seriously, email is great and all but how is it possible to get 100+ emails in a given day? We all need to chill. After our meetings, I headed over to LB’s for a girl’s night in. We decided to make Christmas cookies. We dropped the first tray on the floor and then got bored decorating half way through. Decorating is actually really hard work, FYI. Also LB picked up an awesome bottle of red wine, so that helped 😉

Afterwards we watched the season finale of Younger – I’m still in tears. If you haven’t watched Younger yet, stop now and go binge. The episodes are only 30 minutes long so they’re easy to breeze through. Plus the series features Hillary Duff and her character is kinda what I imagine a grown-up Lizze McGuire would be like.

I know I’ve mentioned before that I’m not a huge fan of Stitch Fix. But I can tell you 100% I am obsessed with Margaret M pants. You can actually buy them outside of Stitch Fix too, but don’t hold your breath for any crazy good deals unfortunately (believe, I stalked the site alllllll last year). Usually I like to match these pants with a dark neutral but today I went for a bright pop of color.

Day 193: Late Night Friday

Tonight I’m having a girls’ night with LB and I couldn’t be more excited. She’s off to Alaska for the next two weeks, so I know I’m going to miss her like crazy! I was all prepared at work and ready to go at 5pm and then BAM. I was hit with three super urgent projects. So I didn’t make it out until 7pm. At least I’m in really good shape for next week.

When I finally made it to LB’s, we got Mellow Mushroom pizza (my fave) and drank merlot (her fave). We spend the entire night laughing way too hard and then waking up way too early to talk more. I absolutely love these kinds of nights.

Now that it’s officially cold here, it’s sweater weather! I purchased this sweater in college – two of my old roomies actually have matching ones in different colors. The necklace is a layered necklace I got from working at my first office job; I started as a gold sorter for a cash for gold place. Eventually I moved up the ranks and the company expanded to costume jewelry as well. I fell in love with this necklace the moment my boss showed it to me! This necklace is one of my faves, but it’s so big that I don’t wear it super often.

Sound off: share a story of you and your best friend!

Day 122: Reunited

Oh my goodness – I am so exhausted! After being awake for 22 hours yesterday, I rose bright and early today at 5:30am to get a bus to my 9am flight to Chicago. In Chicago I had a two hour layover before finally making my way to Atlanta. Since I arrived a little too close to rush-house traffic, I took a MARTA train to a station near my house and Ubered from there. Grand total travel time was around 10 hours today!

When I made it home, I took a quick nap and rallied for a dinner out with a few girlfriends. Although I love to cook, I was so grateful to not have to do dishes! The great tacos and frozen margaritas were an added bonus.

Since I was still a bit tired, comfort was key in my outfit today! These jeans are super stretch and soft – I love boyfriend style jeans for lazy nights out! I paired it with this great cap-sleeve top that I usually reserve for under blazers, but I thought I’d bring it out. It’s actually still pretty hot here in Atlanta!

Day 87: PJs all day, all day

This is embarrassing – I straight-up did not get out of my pj’s all day.

I woke up at 3:30am and could not get back to sleep. So, I tried to make myself useful by cleaning the house, doing laundry, and going for a run. Around 6am, I hit a wall and went back to sleep. When L woke me up at 7:30 for my shot, I was so exhausted that I barely freaked out. I’m counting it as progress.

Like I’ve mentioned before, my employer is great and lets me work from home on my shot days since I can be a little uncomfortable after my shot (I won’t get into the gory details). I spent my day working and then stopped by my friend LB’s for dinner, since she’s going on a week-long family vacation to Wisconsin. My day was pretty much as boring as my outfit.

My outfit was from my college days. Empire 8s was our track conference – they gave the shirts to the winners of the conference meet every year. Our team was a powerhouse, so I have quite a few of these. My shorts say ‘Bombers’ on the butt because that was our mascot. At least it’s unique.
