Day 359: Indian Food and Work Life

After a crazy few weeks, tonight I headed off to my wubby‘s house to catch up and order Indian food. His department has been going through its own changes, so we had a lot to talk about! Part of me still can’t believe the incredible network L and I have created in Atlanta. I’m so grateful for my friends here (and for good take-out!).

I knew today was going to be a late day, so I wanted to be comfortable. These pants are like leggings and the top is super comfortable too…. except when the ties get into curry!

Sound off: how did you make friends in your first job out of college?

Day 340: Escape Room

L has been itching to do an escape room forever, so we jumped at the chance to play with one of PJ’s friends. We headed a touch outside the city to an office park to participate. While waiting for the whole group to arrive, we found out that our room has a 30% success rate! Once everyone showed up, we headed to the room. It was lots of fun – even though we barely missed getting out by a few minutes. L’s still beating himself up!

Today was my beloved casual Friday! I matched these comfortable colored jeans with a fun printed top. I’m not going to lie, when we headed over to the escape room, I swapped the pants out for a pair of shorts in the same color!

Sounds off: have you ever done an escape room?

Day 315: Recovery and Wine

I’m pleasantly surprised at how ‘not’ sore I am, but I’m totally going to take this week off! Today at the office, I had a couple of meetings – one with a new agency I’m hoping to bring on-board! It’s always so much fun to get new ideas into the mix!

After work, I headed out to a cute new wine and tapas bar with LB and one of my new friends in our development. (And if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know how desperate I was to make friends in our development!). Anyways, it was great to relax with wine and good conversation!

My boss is notorious for her all-black outfits, so today I followed suit! Plus all black on a Monday –  just feels fitting.

Day 303: PJ’s Girl[space]friend

We have some amazing friends in town and I couldn’t be more excited! Tonight PJ’s girl[space]friend is visiting Atlanta and she’s staying with us for the night (happy dance)! They met New Year’s Eve when we all went to Asheville. Both PJ and his beau don’t have work tomorrow, so L and I pretended we didn’t either. A bottle (or two) of wine and a few fruitless attempts to start a board game later and it felt like a Friday. Here’s to hoping that PJ’s girl comes and visits more often! And if you’re curious what girl[space]friend means – join the club.

Today I ‘rediscovered’ this awesome cardigan that I definitely don’t wear often enough. Between its amazing pattern and awesome tailored fit, I definitely need more cardigans like this (when I can actually shop again). For now, I’ll just have to find more ways to wear this one!

Day 296: Lunch with Friends

Today I grabbed lunch with one of my first friends at my job. She was in a rotational program, so she’s been in New York City for the past six months, but now she’s back in Atlanta! Even though we work in completely different departments, it’s always so much fun to catch up with someone who went through the same Atlanta trials and tribulations with me.

Stripes are my favorite thing after sushi and sleep, so I love finding new ways to wear them! I’ve had this skirt for a long time, but I decided to mix it up with a belt!

Sound off: how did you make new friends in your city?

Top: Gap purchased second-hand two years ago for $12 (similar, similar)
Skirt: Nordstrom (Halogen) purchased six years ago for $50 (similar, similar)

Day 290: Game Night

Thursday is GAME NIGHT! We have a great group of friends who host a game night every Thursday and it’s so much fun. When I first started playing, I wasn’t very good (Catan was my enemy) and I hate not being good at anything. Over time, I’ve gotten much better – you’re actually looking at the second-place winner of Ticket to Ride this week. Although I guess you’re not actually looking at me. And you probably won’t be reading me due to the sheer volume of nerdiness going on right now.

Today our office was FREEZING! Usually I’d be fine with this top and some pants but today I wore my office cardigan (and accidentally brought it home).

Sound off: What’s your favorite board game to play?

Top: Old Navy purchased three years ago for $20 (similar, similar)

Day 284: Old Friends

Today was an amazing day –  I was able to catch up with two of my dearest friends! For lunch, I grabbed lunch with one of my mentors – who is one of the most confident, smart, and fun women I know! Usually when we meet up, we chat about our careers, issues we face moving up the corporate ladder, and our personal lives – today was no different! It’s so great to have a sounding board who’s not afraid to tell me when I’m being the difficult one in the situation. Plus she got married last year, so she has lots of great advice!

Then after work, one of my favorite friends from my old job in Jamaica was in town with his girlfriend fiance! After polishing off a bottle of red (just like old times) to celebrate their news, we headed out to dinner in Buckhead. After, we found our way to my favorite patio bar. Although, I’m a fan of most bars – indoor or outdoor.

I’ve mentioned it half a million times, but I am one of the world’s biggest fans of Casual Friday! Today I rocked one of my favorite shirts with a pair of boots that have quickly become a staple in my closet. I love when I can toss together two super simple pieces and still look put together.

Sound off: Where do you always bring out-of-town friends when they visit?
