It’s been a long week, so I’m excited to relax and prepare for our Kentucky Derby party! Today after work, L and I headed over to the grocery store to pick up some themed snacks (and booze!). We spent the rest of the night prepping food and cleaning. I love to clean and cook (insert domestic joke here), so it was a great night for me!
Sorry the picture quality is so bad! Our lighting was a little bit weird in the bedroom and Levi wasn’t home from work yet to help me out. Just take my word – I am actually wearing jeans and that cardigan is actually teal!
Sound off: do you have any sporting traditions?

I’m a bit of a neat-freak – even back in college I would reward dedicated study time with the opportunity to clean my room. Lately things have been moving so fast in all aspects of my life, from my new job responsibilities, my new friends, and the whirlwind of wedding planning. Tonight I finally caved and cleaned the house top to bottom (well top to top since we are on one floor) and it felt so good!
Today it was rainy and gross outside, so I wanted to be comfortable! I paired some of my favorite Margaret M pants, which are basically like professional yoga pants, with a slouchy cardigan. The final result was this comfortable look that I can’t wait to replicate when this challenge is over!

It’s not even 7pm and I already feel like I’ve lived four days today. I popped out of bed at 6:30 to go ride ‘my’ pony (my is in quotes because she’s not technically mine – damn adulting). Our tenants moved out today, so I finally got to clean my way – my condo would serve as a great cover letter for a job at Clorox. I also stained an outdoor table and refinished a bedside table. Now I’m on a plane to Chicago for a work event. On Friday one of my co-workers pointed out that I’m staying in ‘Viagra triangle’ where the men are old and rich and the girls are young and pretty.
So whenever I travel, I have a weird thing about bare feet going through airport security. It never bothered me until a friend mentioned how many nasty raw feet walked through the security line – that was enough to make me always travel in sneakers (or at least bring a pair of socks). I’m always freezing on airplanes, so I always keep a spare cardigan too!
Anyone do something they’re proud of today – and yes, sleeping in past 9am is a completely acceptable answer.
