Day 255: Coming Home

It’s tough being without my photographer – I had to resort to selfies in my hotel room! This morning was not as rough as I thought it would be after staying up until 1am.  I guess I’ve still got it in me! Today I work up pretty early so I could run down to the beach and watch the sunrise. Ever since I moved to Atlanta, the ocean is what I miss the most about New England (sorry mom!). Something about that smell and that sound that just calms me right down. Ugh if only Atlanta was near an ocean and had better public transportation…

Anyways, the rest of the day was a blur. We toured our vendor’s print facility and then hopped on a quick flight back to Atlanta. I arrived back home around 6pm – just in time for game night with a group of friends. Needless to say, I was absolutely exhausted and ended up tapping out around 8:30. Back in the routine!

As far as my outfit goes, I knew I’d probably be hot so I wore some cropped work pants with a flowy blouse for optimum air flow. I topped my look off with a great wide-brimmed hat because (a) I’m in Florida and (b) I burn just thinking about the sun. Which I do have a quick bone to pick – my dad’s side of the family is Portuguese and Irish. I clearly got the Irish bit. My little sister? She and the sun are BFFs. Sometimes life just isn’t fair…

Sound off: if you could choose anywhere to live, where would you?

Day 24: Work-a-holic

Since L is out of town for business, I’ve decided to fall back into my work-a-holic ways. I think it all started back in high school. At the end of my freshman year, I suffered a loss. I threw myself into work because it was mindless and I was good at it. During high school, I worked 15 hour weeks at an ice cream store, while maintaining honor grades, and running varsity track. In college I needed to work to pay bills – at the height of my work craziness, I was working 45 hour weeks while maintaining a 4.0 with a full course load.

Day 22: Power B!tch

This outfit makes me feel like a Power B!tch. About a month ago, I had a lively debate with a group of friends (half men and half women) about whether Power B!tch is a positive thing. It’s funny – all of the guys thought the term was derogatory and all the ladies were like “hell yeah, I’d love to be called a Power B!tch.”
