After a crazy few weeks, tonight I headed off to my wubby‘s house to catch up and order Indian food. His department has been going through its own changes, so we had a lot to talk about! Part of me still can’t believe the incredible network L and I have created in Atlanta. I’m so grateful for my friends here (and for good take-out!).
I knew today was going to be a late day, so I wanted to be comfortable. These pants are like leggings and the top is super comfortable too…. except when the ties get into curry!
Sound off: how did you make friends in your first job out of college?

This morning the sun was too bright, so I stayed in the dark with my dog Stormy, catching up on Teen Mom 2 and eating waffles in bed (they were whole wheat, so I think that makes them healthy?). Later on in the day, L came home from visiting his family. It wasn’t until he gave me a nice Easter basket with Swedish Fish that I even realized it was Easter. Times like this certainly make me miss my family (who was drinking mimosas on the beach, so I was extra jealous too). I stopped by LB’s house to pick up a few things I left the day before and ended up chatting with her for almost an hour. I was feeling great – my hungover was subsiding and the weather was perfect with a light breeze. About a half mile from my house, I noticed all the neighborhood kids playing on the playground while their parents grilled in the background. It was a great scene – until I hit the curb and blew out my tire. From here on out, I’m keeping my eyes on the road.
Today was a super mellow day, so I stayed in comfortable clothes all day. It’s actually starting to heat up around here – so I needed this tank!

Based on my overflowing wine cabinet (which is actually just an entire cabinet in our already small kitchen dedicated to the 30+ bottles I own), it’s pretty clear that I love wine. So today when I found a local Wine Festival, I was super excited to go with my best friend LB and my new neighbor friend! We all met up right near Ponce City Market in Atlanta and it was a beautiful day – perfect for getting sunburnt and drinking wine. About three hours in, I slowly transition from pleasantly drunk to okay I need water and pizza STAT. I headed home and spent the rest of the night hanging out with Stormy and burning Trader Joe’s pizza. Days like this remind me that I’m not quite ready for #adulting 24/7.
The weather down here in Atlanta is GORGEOUS – so I took advantage! I paired my new shirt (story on why I broke the challenge here) with an old pair of shorts and my favorite Adidas sneakers for a casual and comfortable outfit!
Sound off, what’s your favorite kind of wine?

L has been itching to do an escape room forever, so we jumped at the chance to play with one of PJ’s friends. We headed a touch outside the city to an office park to participate. While waiting for the whole group to arrive, we found out that our room has a 30% success rate! Once everyone showed up, we headed to the room. It was lots of fun – even though we barely missed getting out by a few minutes. L’s still beating himself up!
Today was my beloved casual Friday! I matched these comfortable colored jeans with a fun printed top. I’m not going to lie, when we headed over to the escape room, I swapped the pants out for a pair of shorts in the same color!
Sounds off: have you ever done an escape room?

My company is a big sponsor of the Atlanta Braves, who are about to kick off their inaugural season at SunTrust Park! Today we celebrated a great 2016 by heading over to a Braves exhibition game against the New York Yankees (which made it VERY easy to cheer for the Braves!). Although we did have to work until 3pm, it was great to hang out and network with co-workers while drinking beer and watching baseball. I might even call this the American Dream!
Our shirts were provided by our company – so we did look a little bit like easily-identifiable campers. Above I’m pictured with my hands-down favorite co-worker. She keeps me sane and completely understands my love-hate relationship with Jimmy Johns!
Sound off: who’s your favorite sports team?

I’ve complained before: Atlanta is not good at traffic. Not only have they not quite managed the concept of merging, they also arbitrarily speed up and slow down. Bottom line, it is a nightmare to drive here. So imagine one of our busiest highways catching fire during the afternoon commute. All I can say is that I’m so incredibly glad that I worked from home today and that there were no injuries or fatalities when the i85 in Atlanta caught on fire and eventually collapsed today. We watched the news coverage (which was our collective first exposure to local news) with a group of friends at game night. It was absolutely wild. Now we’ll just have to see how tomorrow’s commute is!
Since today was my work from day, I stayed in comfy clothes all day! I wore my Red Sox shirt, which was a good homage to the season almost starting again. I will say, the thing I miss most about the northeast is going to a Sox game!

I still can’t believe that one year ago today I was in Savannah, Georgia with L down on one knee! To celebrate, the Tar heels made it to the Final Four and then L and I headed off to a dinner date. We went to this cute, casual restaurant in Buckhead called The Big Ketch. We went here for my birthday this past year and I was excited to get back!
When I was choosing my outfit for our night out, I came across this shirt that I actually wore while I when I met L studying abroad in Spain! Since I was only in Salamanca for a month-long study program, I brought limited clothing options. This top got a lot of wear while I was there, but I swear I’ve barely worn it since! That’s what this whole challenge is for though. I paired with a pair of denim shorts – I’m so excited that it’s shorts weather again.
