Day 356: Atlanta United

For Valentine’s Day, I got L tickets to our new favorite sports team: Atlanta United! Back when L was still in college, he used to drag me to UNC soccer games and I hated it! Now a few years later, I’m really getting into these MLS games. As a transplant, I still consider myself a Red Sox fan (and a forced Panthers fan), but don’t have any MLS affiliations. It’s fun to be able to cheer whole-heartedly for an Atlanta team! It was a great game to watch – the weather was awesome and at least Atlanta United scored the first goal…

I wore my shirt that L bought me for our last Atlanta United game. Since it’s definitely toasty, I paired it with some denim jeans and some sneakers – there’s lots of walking and standing involved with these games!

Sound off: do you cheer for your hometown teams or your new city teams?

Day 349: Breakfast and Puppies

I’m still recovering from a crazy past few days! This morning, a big group of us headed out for breakfast. Unfortunately, we are probably the toughest group to find a place to eat! We have vegans, vegetarians, and crazy allergies – so it took a while! After breakfast, we hit the road so we could stop by L’s parents on the way home.

Before we started driving, I did take a super quick nap with my friend’s 8 week old puppy! Now, I have puppy fever something fierce. L is staying strong that we don’t need another puppy, but I hope I’m starting to wear him down!

Today it was freezing – I don’t know what’s up with me and being a terrible packer lately. From here on out, I need to start checking out the weather beforehand! I did end up kidnapping L’s sweatshirt for most of the day!

Sound off: any crazy allergies?

Day 341: Wine Day

Based on my overflowing wine cabinet (which is actually just an entire cabinet in our already small kitchen dedicated to the 30+ bottles I own), it’s pretty clear that I love wine. So today when I found a local Wine Festival, I was super excited to go with my best friend LB and my new neighbor friend! We all met up right near Ponce City Market in Atlanta and it was a beautiful day – perfect for getting sunburnt and drinking wine. About three hours in, I slowly transition from pleasantly drunk to okay I need water and pizza STAT. I headed home and spent the rest of the night hanging out with Stormy and burning Trader Joe’s pizza. Days like this remind me that I’m not quite ready for #adulting 24/7.

The weather down here in Atlanta is GORGEOUS – so I took advantage! I paired my new shirt (story on why I broke the challenge here)  with an old pair of shorts and my favorite Adidas sneakers for a casual and comfortable outfit!

Sound off, what’s your favorite kind of wine?

Day 321: Engagement Anniversary

I still can’t believe that one year ago today I was in Savannah, Georgia with L down on one knee! To celebrate, the Tar heels made it to the Final Four and then L and I headed off to a dinner date. We went to this cute, casual restaurant in Buckhead called The Big Ketch. We went here for my birthday this past year and I was excited to get back!

When I was choosing my outfit for our night out, I came across this shirt that I actually wore while I when I met L studying abroad in Spain! Since I was only in Salamanca for a month-long study program, I brought limited clothing options. This top got a lot of wear while I was there, but I swear I’ve barely worn it since! That’s what this whole challenge is for though. I paired with a pair of denim shorts – I’m so excited that it’s shorts weather again.

Day 286: Eleven

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m training for a half marathon. Our long runs are supposed to be on Saturdays, but given my state, I was NOT ready to run that far yesterday. So this morning I woke up early(ish) to tackle the 11 miles on my own. Shockingly, I actually ran really fast (and right past LB’s house)! I was super pumped – so I spent the rest of the day doing a little bit of nothing. Although, I am watching some dogs via Rover to make a little extra money for the wedding. I’ve watched these cute little schnauzers before – they’re super sweet and old.

Today it was pretty nice out, so I took advantage with a pair of shorts! This top is an awesome one I got from ThredUp a while ago – I’m such a bargain hunter and I LOVE getting quality things for less!

Sound off: anything you’re training for?

Day 278: Expensive Sports Bra

Can we just talk about how freaking expensive sports bras are? It’s officially unfair. Now that I’m back into running, I needed to update my sports bra collection – most of which I’ve had since high school – eeek! I have one bra that I love: the Juno by Moving Comfort (no this isn’t sponsored in any way, I just truly LOVE the bra!), but those babies run around $50 a pop. When I told L, he almost self-combusted. He’s the type of guy who will super-glue his ten-year-old Nikes back together (true-story). Anyways, now that I got that rant out of the way – today was a super active day! We kicked off the day bright and early with a super successful 5k road race. It was L’s first one back since breaking his leg (yay) and it was my best time for a 5k since I was diagnosed with AS (double yay!). After our race, I put in another 6 miles for my half marathon training and then headed off to my weekly riding lesson. When I finally hit the couch after my super active day, I didn’t get up. #movienight for the win.

Today it was surprisingly warm, so I took advantage and wore shorts! This combo always reminds me of the beach with its light colors.

Day 250: Running and Foot Golf

Today was a super active day. A couple of months ago while looking through old pictures and drinking wine, I decided I want to run another half marathon. After signing up, the panic set in. I ended up signing up for an Atlanta Track Club half marathon training group and today was our first practice. Nothing like a hilly 8 miles to kick your butt back into shape.

Afterward, a group of us went to play foot golf – which is basically golf but with a soccer ball. I am certainly NOT a soccer play by any means; that’s L’s domain. Get ready for the most underwhelming sports montage ever….

Foot golf was on a golf course, so half the people were in sweatpants for foot golf and the other half was super dressed up for actual golf. I was somewhere in the middle. As an added bonus, we’re going through a bit of a heat wave down here in Atlanta, so I took advantage with some shorts and a t-shirt!

Sound off: what’s the weirdest sport you’ve ever played?
