Day 359: Indian Food and Work Life

After a crazy few weeks, tonight I headed off to my wubby‘s house to catch up and order Indian food. His department has been going through its own changes, so we had a lot to talk about! Part of me still can’t believe the incredible network L and I have created in Atlanta. I’m so grateful for my friends here (and for good take-out!).

I knew today was going to be a late day, so I wanted to be comfortable. These pants are like leggings and the top is super comfortable too…. except when the ties get into curry!

Sound off: how did you make friends in your first job out of college?

Day 352: Quarterly Meetings

Today is my favorite day of the quarter the division meeting day! In this meetings (which I wrote about here and here), we meet up with our counterparts from the other divisions and talk direct marketing strategy. Usually we get a night to hang out and catch up, but this time we headed straight back on a flight to Atlanta. We didn’t get in until almost midnight Atlanta time – I’m so happy I get to work from home (and sleep in a little!) tomorrow!

Usually, hotels are great for taking photos – not this one! The lighting was terrible! Oh well – today we have all day meetings and then am hopping on a late night flight, so I wanted to be comfortable!

Day 346: Girl’s Night with LB

When all else fails, have a girl’s night! Thank goodness for LB – she’s been the most incredible friend over the past two years and I don’t know what I would do without her! She’s actually moving a few miles away in a few weeks, so I stopped by to help her pack up her kitchen and load up her car. We ended up at dinner and then polishing off a few glasses of wine, so I spent the night (probably for the last time!) at her place.

I love the bright pink in this outfit combo – it’s a surefire way to make me smile! Not going to lie, when LB and I went out to dinner, I wore the top half along with a pair of black shorts. Definitely a fashion statement, but not in a good way.

Sound off: what do you always do for your girl’s night?

Day 345: Being Brave (Or Maybe Dumb)

Last week I published a blog post that I never thought I would have the guts to publish. I feel like I spend half my time promoting my blog and the other half hoping that no one ever reads it. The past few weeks have been really tough on me and my family. I met up with a mentor to talk through everything that’s going on and she gave me the best advice. Right now while I’m struggling, I should focus on the things I can control: like eating healthy and exercising. I should spend time with my awesome fiancé and adorable dog. I should sleep eight hours and read books I like. Even if the ground starts to get a little unsteady, there’s power in doing the things I love. I’m not going to lie, lately, I’ve slipped with working out regularly and with having less than one glass of wine a night. I’m going to take control of the things I can and just breathe through the things I can’t.

These printed pants are glorified yoga pants, I swear! I matched them with this color chambray that’s also super comfortable.

Day 343: Carpool Life

Here’s to #carpool life. Thank goodness I have a co-worker who lives not too far away who is willing to let me crash her morning commute. Unfortunately for me, she needed to work late today, so I’m stuck hanging out at the office working on a few random things. At least I have the best fiancé in the world who not only helped coordinate getting my car towed but also went to the tire dealership to pick out tires for me. He totally has a lobster roll in his future!

Today I actually left home a little later than usual, so I had a little more time to try with my outfit. I love this color blue – it’s the brightest neutral I own!

Sound off: who in your life are you grateful for today?

Day 337: Business Dinner

This morning was a whirlwind – plus I completely forgot that our corporate partners were coming down from Philly for afternoon meetings! I scrambled to put together the guest list and reservation for our dinner. Although our headquarters friends are always a lot of fun, some of my own counterparts at the division can be quite frustrating. There’s one lady in particular who thinks that millennials are the root of all evil. She never misses an opportunity to talk about how lazy, entitled, dim my generation is – it drives me crazy! She was actually part of the inspiration behind the post I wrote about millennials! At least the wine will be plentiful and the food will be good at tonight’s dinner!

These pants are basically professional yoga pants, so they were perfect to ease back into my work week!

Sound off: any generational bias that you deal with at work?

Day 324: Singing Shows

Before my half marathon, I used to have speed work on Wednesday nights. Now I feel like I have so much time, so L and I are catching up on some new shows! A while back, we got really into The Voice. Ironically I grew up dreaming of being of Star Search, even though American Idol was my mom’s favorite TV show. We used to eat dinner in the living room on Tuesday nights so we could watch it as a family. My mom was probably one of ten people who actually watched the final season.

Today was a long day at work (mentally, not actually), so I was grateful to have this comfortable, oversized sweater!

Sound off: what’s your favorite reality show?
