For my little sister’s birthday/college graduation, we’re heading to Terceira Island in the Azores, Portugal for a week of hiking, wine drinking, and relaxing. Last night I stayed up late packing and I’m officially packed (aside from my toothbrush). Now I just need to get through today at work.
This dress is the clothing equivalent of “comfort food.” This morning, I really needed my comfy dress.
One year ago I was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis. The disease is also called ‘bamboo spine’ which makes me think of cute little panda bears, instead of the beast this thing is. Basically AS (as it’s unaffectionately known) attacks my spine and other large joints, causing inflammation. During ‘flare ups,’ I’ll experience sharp pain whenever I move. Recently, my rheumatologist put me on a new medication that requires bi-weekly shots. Today was the first day that we did the shot ourselves at our house.
Today I’m kicking off my adventure – bear with me as I train my fiancee how to take pictures. I’m starting off with one of my favorites, which conveniently is also super easy to put together. The best thing about dresses is that I don’t leave a trail of abandoned cardigans in my wake in the morning.
