Day 236-237: Asheville

The next morning was tough after last night. A group of people headed off to ski, but I kept L company since he was a little worried about skiing on his knee. Another couple headed into the town of Asheville with us instead. For lunch we ate at Blue Dream Curry House and it was so good. I absolutely love spicy food – but I’m still trying to train L! We also wondered around to shop. This challenge sucked, but I did pick up some wine. We headed back to the cabin in the mid-afternoon for an amazing night full of champagne, spaghetti, and beer. We counted down to the New Year based on someone’s hand-watch because of the whole no connection to the outside world. To be honest, it was magical.Sunday we wanted to kick off healthy 2017 with a hike. We piled into a couple cars and found a national park to go explore. We followed a pretty mellow trail for about 3 miles so we earned our lunch! From there we headed back to our cabin to pack-up and head out to one last dinner all together. The Early Girl Eatery was the only restaurant in Asheville that could take our huge group, so we ended up there. The food was super healthy and pretty good. The prices, especially the price of beer, was AWESOME!  L, PJ, and I spent the night since we’re cake testing the our wedding tomorrow. After this weekend, we passed out bright and early at the hotel!

I hope you all had an amazing weekend. Congrats on making it through 2016 and cheers to 2017!
