Day 109, 110, and 111: My Trip to Ithaca

Once again, I decided to do the whole put away the blog/phone to enjoy everything this past weekend, so welcome to another awesome combo post!

Day 109: I actually flew into Ithaca, NY, so I had a layout in Philly. The Ithaca airport has one security line that closes down between flights. So I arrived in Ithaca, NY at 3pm and my amazing friend T who is graduation with her doctorate degree in physical therapy and I had a dramatic run and hug each other. We would have made a great made-for-TV version of a Nicholas Sparks movie. Since we were in the Finger Lakes, naturally the first thing we did was hit up some local wineries.  We rounded off the night at one of our favorite local bars (and then a few of our not-so-favorite bars).

Day 110

Day 110: Today was the day T officially graduated. It was absolutely crazy to see all of her classmates, which were my former classmates during undergrad. I guess I thought everyone would be frozen in time after we graduated. I should have realized that when I didn’t get id’ed at dinner. Seriously, it only got worse – we stopped by the dorms to visit my former roommate’s baby sister (who’s a sophomore). Her friends thought we were ancient! It may have been the fact that I’m engaged or that I can legally rent a car in a month.

Day 110

In all seriousness, the best part of the entire night was drinking rose in the bathroom catching up and swapping stories with my girls. I’m so incredibly grateful that I made these amazing friends in college. There’s some people that time and distances just don’t matter.

Day 111: All my other girls took off bright and early today since they’re moving into a new place later this week. T and I had just enough time to hit up our favorite Mexican joint with killer sangrias and outdoor seating. My flight was originally set to take off around 3, but I volunteered my seat in exchange for a $300 voucher. Next step – home to Boston to see my fam (and gorgeous new nephews!)
